You can get a number of bicycle tour guides from the State of New Jersey Web Site:

The guides include maps, directions, and route tips. The most interesting runs for 238 miles from High Point to Cape May -- a bike route quite literally the size of New Jersey! Of course, this trip can be broken up into any number of sections to suite the fitness level of any rider.

The guides are available either as PDF downloads or free by mail through an Online request Form. As these are color publications with extensive graphics, a high-horsepower printer will be required to produce a hardcopy.

Getting to the High Point to Cape May Bike Route

A good way to reach the High Point to Cape May Bike Route from New York City, Jersey City, or Hoboken is to take the PATH subway (NYC: World Trade Center, Christopher, 6th Ave at 9th, 14th, 23rd, and 33rd; Hoboken; Jersey City: Exchange Place, Pavonia-Newport, Grove and Journal Square) to Newark Penn Station. From there, use these directions to Morristown:
Newark NJ - Morristown NJ

Mile Dir Street
Start Raymond Plaza East and Market St
0.0 O Head west on Market St
0.7 BL Springfield Av
0.2 BR South Orange Av
5.3 P South Mountain Reservation
9.5 L Normandy Pkwy
0.7 MR Madison Av (Rt 24)
0.6 MR South St (Rt 24)
0.8 E Market St (Rt 24) (at W Park Pl)
17.7 miles

From Morristown, continue on 24 (510) to Mendham. To proceed north, continue on 24 (E. Main St.). To go south, turn onto 646 (Tempe Wick Rd.).
